The Chef & OUR STORY

Founded and led by Chef Tanesha Trippett, Jacob’s Catering is built on a legacy of Southern-comfort cooking, run with heart, flavor and Philadelphia pride. After a 15-year career in finance, Tanesha followed her passion and graduated from the Art Institute of Philadelphia in 2014.  

Growing up in West Oak Lane with summers in Savannah, Georgia, she watched the Jacobs women in her family – grandmothers and aunts who cooked outdoors, smoked meats, steamed seafood and sold platters to support their households. Those memories became the foundation of her approach to food and hospitality.  

At Jacob’s Catering, we bring that spirit to your event. Whether it’s a corporate lunch, gala, wedding, school luncheon or milestone celebration, our menus flex – from grilled salmon entrées to interactive slider and taco stations – and we offer buffet, family-style, plated and station service. We also provide beverages from our Pepsi portfolio alongside house-made iced tea and lemonade to complement the meal. 

Soon, we’ll be launching online ordering for catering, featuring a variety of made-to-order lunch boxes – perfect for offices, schools, and group gatherings that crave convenience without sacrificing flavor.

Rooted in the West Oak Lane neighborhood of Philadelphia, we draw from a community rich in Black entrepreneurship, artistry and culture. We honour that legacy by ensuring every gathering we cater feels seamless, flavorful and unforgettable.
